SummaryOur Cost Accounting Manager will play a key role in the global accounting close process, will prepare and review internal controls, will help prepare and review GL account reconciliations, and will own the global inventory costing process within SAP.The ideal person for this position will have a demonstrated understanding of corporate accounting, excellent technical and communication skills, drive and focus on process improvement, and the ability to partner effectively across business functions. Cost Accounting Manager
* Assist in the close reporting process ensuring all financial deadlines are met.
* Own and assist in aspects of monthly close, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and has a good understanding of cost accounting principles (e.g., Bill of Materials, Labor and OH Rates, Standard Costing)
* Manages global inventory costing for all business segments in SAP.
* Prepare and review internal controls over financial reporting documentation to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act ("SOX").
* Analyze inventory variances (PPV, Material & OH variances, repricing, etc.)
* Assist with year-end integrated audit
* Schedule requests of external auditors.
* Experience working with intercompany transactions in a global company.
* Drive and understand process improvements and works cross-functionally with purchasing, FP&A, and operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of related experience
- 3+ years of management experience or supervisory equivalent.
- Proficient with relevant computer applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with SAP
- Experience with foreign currency accounting and international locations.
- CMA or CPA or working towards professional licensure
- Solid understanding of US GAAP
