Functions as part of a dynamic and engaging laboratory team in a professional setting. This caregiver is an experienced LA who may act as a Team Lead or Trainer and serves as a resource to other caregivers, clinicians, and patients. The LA II may be responsible for heading special projects, to include research, continuous improvement, and product evaluations. This position also orders, prepares, and delivers specimens to the appropriate department or testing facility. The Lab Assistant II (LA II) is an experienced Lab Assistant, with advanced knowledge of specimen processing in the clinical and/or pathology areas of the lab. In addition to basic LA I responsibilities, the LA II may act as a Team Lead or Trainer and assist with adverse event investigations, research study coordination, moderate complexity testing, and may fulfill functions of a Coordinator or Supervisor, in their absence.
These caregivers compassionately communicate procedures and instructions with patients, family members, and other caregivers and demonstrate empathy during every interaction.
