Overview
The USU Tooele Campus seeks a qualified STATs Tutor. The successful applicant will operate within Tooele Student Services, serving primarily as a tutor for students taking all STAT classes. Tutors are expected to conduct their sessions 100% from the Tooele Campus (no remote from home). Exact hours will be assigned by the supervisor based on student needs and courses taught during the semester. Schedule will be primarily in the evenings.
  • Fall 2024 semester, August 26 - December 13, 2024
  • Potential to continue for other semesters


Responsibilities
  • Serve as a STAT tutor for Tooele students taking all USU STAT classes, 1045,1040, 2300,2000, etc.
  • Conduct tutoring sessions in person and through Zoom online (On campus)
  • Provide help with understanding of course content, homework, review exams, and/or explain concepts recently discussed in classes
  • Work with Tooeles Student Success Coordinator throughout semester to assess student needs and update practices.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Proficient in STAT 1045, 1040, 2300, 2000, and higher.
  3. Ability to work independently.
  4. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.
  5. Ability to work with diverse populations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
  1. Willingness to attend training on online tutoring system.
  2. Demonstrates personal integrity.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively.
  4. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
