Job Description
We are open to this role being hybrid in the American Fork, UT office or 100% remote within the United States.Unfortunately, Henry Schein One is unable to hire individuals residing in North Dakota, Hawaii, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Puerto Rico, or other US Territories.This role will only consider W2 candidates and not C2C candidates.

You will be responsible for providing technical leadership, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers. What You Will Do
- Lead the design and development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance identity and access management solutions for Dentrix Ascend
- Craft code that reflects an expert understanding of object-oriented design, refactoring, clean code, clean architecture, and solid engineering principles to drive innovation
- Follow the Test-Driven Development (TDD) paradigm
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
- Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce best practices to ensure code quality and maintainability
- Solve complex problems using knowledge, passion, and curiosity
- Partner with our DevOps team to build and support CI/CD pipelines
- Java Spring Boot
- Groovy, Grails
- SQL (MS SQL Server, Postgres)
- React, Vue, Backbone
- Containerization (Docker)
- Micro-Service Architecture
- REST API Development
- Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
Must Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience building backend software with our tech stack
- Prior as experience as a team or tech lead is preferred
- Experience implementing single sign-on (SSO) solutions for seamless user authentication across multiple systems and applications
- Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) tools such as Okta, Auth0, or AWS IAM, including authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth, SAML)
- Expert level experience in unit testing
- Understanding and defining cross-team interdependent roadmaps
- Experience working in an agile environmentutilizing Jira, Confluence, or similar tools
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (in person and remotely)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically while executing tactically
- Enjoy sharing ideas with, and learning from, other team members
- Effectively estimate engineering work within 6-12-month timelines
