As a Continuation Improvement (CI) Engineer, you will be establishing and maintaining a continuous improvement culture in ABB, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodology, and creating transparency to monitor progress. The CI Engineer seeks solutions for process improvements, provides documentation and implement tracking systems to ensure processes continues to operate efficiently, this position oversees and coordinates the Lean Six Sigma activities and advises management and other plants on the essentials for creating and maintaining an effective Lean Six Sigma Environment. CI functions will include, but are not limited to training, coaching and developing a high performing team to partner with the other plant leaders in NEMA to drive a more efficient and standardized operation.

Your responsibilities

  • Continuous Improvement Deployment, facilitate best practice sharing within other ABB locations
  • Work directly with stakeholders in other locations to identify and achieve business priorities, goals and objectives
  • Planning, coordination and execution of Lean Six Sigma strategies at organization level
  • Develop metrics on leading and training to successfully track improvement and ensure progress
  • Analyze data and identify trends, Perform Process Reviews, Root Cause Analysis and Improvement Plans by Implementing Lean Manufacturing Tools to increase production and decrease cost
  • Foster the use of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Implement, Control) scientific problem solving approach, value stream mapping, standardized work, visual management and Leader standard work
  • Review QA (Quality Assurance) procedures, implement action plans, train employees and evaluate effectiveness
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma Tools and manage key performance Indicators (KPIs): Cost Savings, Productivity Improvements, Reduction in Waste or Defects, standardize processes and Increase Customer Satisfaction, documenting each phase of changes and report improvements to upper management
  • Lead cross functional teams (Management, Supervisors, Operators) applying lean tools to reinforce safety, quality, cost, efficiency and optimize performance of the systems and keep them all in alignment to the plant's business strategy
  • CI engineer will intensely participate in training on certification programs on lean/six sigma methodologies across organization
Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with minimum 2 years of experience. Experience leading projects and influencing people across the organization - Preferred.
  • Experience in leading lean and / or six sigma projects across the entire organization - Preferred.
  • Experience developing employee training programs
  • Experience in facing challenges as resistance to change, lack of employee engagement, ensuring consistent implementation of improvement strategies across all departments
  • Six Sigma / Lean Certifications (Preferred)
  • Proficiency on TQM (Total Quality Management) process evaluation techniques (Control Charts, Scatter Diagram, Pareto Chart, Check Sheets, Histogram, Fishbone Diagrams, Flow Charts, Cause and Effect Diagram) - Preferred.
  • Advance Skills with Microsoft Office
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
