Job Overview

The Environmental, Safety and Health Manager outlines and implements training programs about employee safety, driving, environmental compliance, safety and health. Develops and distributes education materials, inspect facilities and work areas, investigate near misses and incidents, determines root causes, develop and implement corrective actions, and file company reports. Provides consistent presence in all areas of the facility to monitor and encourage safe work practices. The incumbent ensures compliance with state, local, and federal regulations/guidelines and serves as an advisor to managers in regard to training questions and concerns.

This position is contingent is upon contract award.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Implements a standardized ESH program, which is Management System based.
  • Performs risk analysis, develops programs that exceed basic regulatory compliance, identifies needed resources (such as personal protective equipment) and budget for resources.
  • Identifies required training for employees in various operations.
  • Performs and documents training.
  • Documents and submits monthly performance metrics.
  • Performs ESH inspections and implements employee reward and recognition program.
  • Reads and understands regulatory compliance and submits any documentation required to operate under permits (such as air, hazardous waste, and water).
  • Communicates with senior management, area supervisors, and regulators to help implement a complete ESH program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • BA/BS degree or higher in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or Geology from an accredited college or university OR a technical certification in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Environmental Science.
    • In some instances, experience may substitute for BA/BS. Must provide a copy of diploma or college transcripts.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in environmental compliance, OSHA compliance, ISO experience, and hazardous waste management and pollution prevention, knowledge of Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD), Department of Defense (DoD) environmental regulations, and US Army Safety and Environmental Regulations, including Federal OSHA and EPA regulations.
